We are extremely proud to announce the successful completion of a two week Motor Officer Training course for the Mesa Police Department. Three officers arrived for training and three officers graduated after a total of four weeks in training.  Training elements included starting out on our sub-500cc training motorcycles to perform the Basic RiderCourse, then time in the dirt bike pit to get a feel for bikes moving around, and finally we moved to training on their duty motorcycles called The Enforcer (Kawasaki 1400 Concours).

The partnership with Mesa PD was the result of almost three years of administrative cooperation. Sgt. Sean Kelly was pivotal in moving forward with this progressive training partnership.  Without his efforts, and the support of his Lieutenant and Commander, this unique training opportunity may have never occurred.  Kudos to the Mesa Police Department for thinking out of the box to find ways to develop safer, better educated motor officers.

The RiderCoaches who completed the training for Mesa PD, Kevin Wood and Bill Seltzer, dedicated their time (hundreds of hours) and energy to ensure the success of the program.

It must be said that the training could not have been completed without a TEAM effort taking place.  We would like to add a special salute to the following individuals within TEAM Arizona who, day in and day out, do their best to have safer riders on Arizona roadways:

Curt Crenshaw (Master Dirt Bike Instructor)

Larry Rising (TEAM Arizona Office Manager)

Craig Smith (Support Specialist)

Luc Varagnat (Master Technician)

We at TEAM Arizona wish the officers a long, safe riding career as motor officers.
