Dr. Jamie Lott:

TEAM Arizona Rider of the Month May 2017

Jim Barnett TEAM Arizona RiderCoachWe often talk about fulfilling dreams at TEAM Arizona.  Very little makes us more happy when people come to us with an aspiration to learn how to ride so they can fulfill a dream.  When Dr. Jamie Lott arrived at TEAM Arizona in September 2014, she put her faith in RiderCoach Jim Barnett to help her achieve what she herself thought was impossible: learning how to ride a motorcycle.  An irrepressible spirit, unmatched enthusiasm, and a drive to encourage new women riders makes Jamie an outstanding choice for our May 2017 Rider of the Month and our ambassador for 2017’s Women in Motorcycling month.

Feeling At Peace

It took Dr. Lott a little bit of time to make the transition from the TEAM Arizona Basic RiderCourse to the street.  She continued to practice in her school’s parking lot for almost a year.  Essentially she’s been riding on the road for a year and a half; she wanted to make sure she was at peace before making the transition.

Jamie didn’t stop her educational process with the Basic RiderCourse.  She continued on to take several Skills Practice sessions.  She also shares her experience with prospective riders and has directed several friends and associates to TEAM Arizona for their training.  In her words:

Each One Teach One! Never tear down a fellow rider! Always encourage all riders to ride safe, wear full protective gear, full face helmets, keep their bikes in excellent condition, and always enjoy your ride!

When I started riding, I wish I would have known that women were not as supportive of riders or new riders during the course of learning to ride.

Jamie backs those words up with action.  Not only does Jamie send folks to TEAM Arizona, she’s been known to visit our Gilbert training location on a monthly basis to provide support for new riders.  Truly, in Dr. Lott’s case, actions speak louder than words.

Rider on the Storm

That tricked out Harley-Davidson Street Glide with the killer paint job is “Storm”.  This is the steed that will take Jamie from Arizona to Atlanta Kings of the South Events.  From there, she will travel up to the Northeast and will make her way back to California. She hopes to hit 25 states in total, if not more, with her husband.  Putting those kind of miles on Storm will definitely help her get more comfortable with riding.  We like how she puts it best:

I want to accomplish being an excellent rider, feeling very comfortable on ‘Storm” seeing the world with the wind in my face, God on my shoulders, meeting new people, and forming lifetime relationships with men and women who love to ride as much as I do.

Who could argue with that mission?  Thank you Dr. Lott for sharing your enthusiasm with TEAM Arizona.  Know that your efforts have not gone unnoticed and that your support of developing riders is admirable.  Kudos to you!
