Jayson Citron: TEAM Arizona Rider of the Month January 2016!
TEAM Arizona Rider of the Month for January 2016 is taking no prisoners.
The owner and coaches at TEAM Arizona have known Jayson Citron for what seems like an eternity. He’s what we call an Arizona race-scene mainstay. Now, more than a decade after working for a now defunct track company, Jayson is running his own entity, Desert Road Racing. We’re excited to highlight him and his excellent road racing organization as part of our Rider of the Month celebration for January 2016.
Jayson has an interesting vision for track days and racing in Arizona. We’re especially thrilled to announce an enhanced partnership between TEAM Arizona and Desert Road Racing for 2016.
WHO IS THIS LEATHER CLAD MAN?
Jayson started riding more than 25 years ago. He really enjoys the physical aspects of riding; including pushing his limits. He does wish he would have taken a possibly slightly different path:
I wish I had learned the value of good coaching and good tires earlier in my riding career. Most riders make the mistake of figuring out how to go faster on their own. I wish I had done things earlier in my riding career to reduce the learning curve. Next would be – Good tires are the best way to spend money to go faster. Pick a tire and set the bike up for those tires. Earlier in my riding career I would buy take-offs (used tires) and multiple brands. I wish I learned early on – there is NO WAY to set up the bike for multiple brands – at the tail end of their life. Lastly- buy good rider protective gear.
Training and tires. Boy, some hard lessons we ALL seem to learn along the way if we’re not dialed in with a good mentor or training organization. Jayson’s attention to the details ensures he provides the right environment for riders who want to improve their skills and street riding abilities. He enjoys coaching and sharing what he’s learned throughout his years of riding and racing. His sage advice?
You do not have to be a road racer – mega fast guy or gal to come out to the race track. Don’t wait – DO IT!
