We hear quite often from the public that they want to try motorcycling but don’t want a lengthy process to see if they’re going to like riding.  For that reason, TEAM Arizona offers the Introduction to Motorcycling course.  It is a simple, four hour course where riders can see if motorcycling works for them.  Some folks aren’t hip to two wheels after the four hours, and that’s okay, but some folks are hooked.  In a big, life-changing way.

Meet Gordon Bradford.  We’re not sure “hooked” is a strong enough description.  He’s all in.  Motorcycling is now central to his life and a part of his DNA, never to be removed from his personal story.  And we dig that, which is why he is our Rider of the Month for June 2016.

The Intro course was just the beginning.  Immediately Gordon jumped to the Basic RiderCourse.  He listened to the coaches and decided to start on a smaller motorcycle; a Kawasaki Ninja 300.  He’s really glad he started there instead of a 600 or liter bike because he feels he really learned how to ride and gain a proficiency with the controls before having to manage an excessive amount of power.  From the 300 he moved to a 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 636.  His current stable includes:

  • 2016 Kawasaki H2
  • 2015 Yamaha Bolt
  • 2015 Yamaha R1
  • 2015 Honda Grom

As the bikes increased in power and size, Gordon made sure his riding skill and abilities increased too; he turned to training.  He progressed to the Total Control Advanced Riding Clinic and most recently completed the TEAM Arizona Track Clinic.

Why does he like motorcycling so much?  He responds:

You’re forced to use all your senses at a higher level than you normally would.  You have to be able to react at a moments notice.  It really expands your mind.

What does he want to do next?  In his own words:

In July I will be making the trip out to Austin, Texas, to ride at Circuit of the Americas.  I think it will be an amazing experience and something not everyone gets a chance to do.  Eventually I’d like to go around the country doing track days at various tracks around the country.

Jealous?  We better believe we are, but in a good way.  What is a life without experiences?  We’re glad we could be here for you Gordon to help ignite your fire and be a part of your riding experience.  We’re happy to have you as part of the TEAM Arizona family!
